Creating “Curb Appeal” to Help Sell Your PEI Home

When trying to sell a home, it is important to consider the curb appeal of your home.  The term “curb appeal” refers to the way your home looks when potential buyers are sitting on the road outside of your home.  If you wish to draw in potential buyers, you must create a home that looks both attractive and inviting.  In order to accomplish this task, you need to follow a few simple rules.

Rule #1:  Clear Up the Clutter

A cluttered yard is not only unattractive, it makes it looks as if the home is not large enough to provide the storage necessary to keep the home organized.  Remove all clutter from your yard and make certain it has a neat and tidy appearance.

Rule #2:  Clean the Outside of the Home

If your home has siding, use a powerwasher to make it clean and bright.  If your home is painted, you may need to get a fresh paint job in order to create an attractive view to your home.

Rule #3:  Add Flowers

You don’t have to have a green thumb to add flowers to the outside of your home.  In addition, you don’t even have to actually plant them in your yard.  Even simply adding pots filled with annuals in your window sills on alongside your home will help brighten it up.

With these three simple rules, you can make your house look far lovelier from the road and potential buyers will actually get out of their cars to see what your home has to offer inside.
