Is it Time to Get a New Realtor?

When you hire a Realtor to help you sell your home, you expect to have a partner that will help you get the best price for your home while selling the house as quickly as possible.  Unfortunately, there may be times when you and the Realtor simply don’t connect.  There are a number of signs to watch for that indicate that your Realtor may not be right for you.  Some of these include:

• He doesn’t return your phone calls
• She pressures you to make decisions you are uncomfortable with
• He doesn’t seem to be showing your home to many clients
• She seems to be rude or demeaning toward you

The good news is that you generally have options available to you if you don’t seem to be getting along with your Realtor. If you feel as if you simply cannot continue to work with your current Realtor, discuss the situation with the broker.  The broker should be able to connect you with a different Realtor or may even take over your account.  If this solution doesn’t work for you, many brokers will let you out of your contractual agreement in order to keep you happy and prevent the possibility of poor public relations.  After all, brokers live off of word-of-mouth advertising and they want to see their customers happy.
